The Marezige Tourist Association has been beating its heart with our community for decades. We are a voluntary, non-profit association that connects locals, winegrowers, craftsmen, cultural figures and everyone who believes in the beauty, heritage and future of Marezige and Slovenian Istria. Our story is based on connecting people, preserving traditions and creating unforgettable experiences – for locals and visitors.

Who we are

We are a group of dedicated individuals who, with love for their hometown, take care of the cultural, tourist and social life in Marezige. Our work ranges from organizing the largest events in the region to reviving old customs, taking care of the orderliness of the place and promoting sustainable tourism.

The association works with the desire to ensure that Marezige remains a recognizable point on the map of Slovenian Istria – not only because of the view, but also because of its hospitality, heritage and true Istrian spirit .

History

The Marezige Tourist Association has a rich past, intertwined with important events in our local history. We play a special role in preserving the memory of the Marezige Uprising of 1921 , which marked our place in history as a symbol of courage and resistance against fascism.

Since the founding of the association, we have always been the voice of the place – both in times of change and in times of celebration.

Our events

We take the greatest pride in the Traditional Refoška Festival , which we organize every year in May, on the municipal holiday of the City of Koper. This multi-day event is a combination of wine, culture, cuisine, entertainment, and pride in our wine-growing roots.

Every year we also participate in St. Martin’s Day , we also organize summer events , children’s workshops , excursions , themed evenings , cultural events and workshops that enrich the life of the place and invite people of all generations.

Who we work with

Our operations are based on connecting – with the local community of Marezige , local winemakers , craftsmen , cultural associations , Marezige Elementary School , the Municipality of Koper, various tourist organizations , associations from all over Slovenia and numerous volunteers , without whom we cannot imagine our operations.

Our view forward

We believe that the future of tourism is based on respecting tradition and connecting people . Our goal is to create a place where locals and visitors feel good. We want to present Marezige as a place with a soul – a place where Refošk is not just a wine, but a symbol of identity, where the views are not just beautiful, but inspiring, and where every visit is something special.
